This is exciting news and I am more than happy to see this epic fantasy film back on the big screen! This time it will be the 260 min. long extended edition!

The new release joins Richard Donner’S Superman the movie and a few other projects that will be returning to theaters. The projection for The return of the king will only take place in Regal and Cinemark theaters and will include an introduction by Elijah Wood.
The relaunch of The return of the king will mark the 20th anniversary since the film first hit theaters in 2003, and hits theaters April 13.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King features the final showdown between the forces of good and evil as they battle for control of the future of Middle-earth. The hobbits Frodo and Sam reach Mordor in their quest to destroy ‘the one ring’, while Aragorn leads the forces of good against Sauron’s evil army in the stone city of Minas Tirith.
WB shared in a statement, “Warner Bros. Discovery today officially kicked off its global centennial campaign, Celebrating Every Story, ahead of Warner Bros. Studio’s 100th anniversary on April 4, 2023. Over the next 12 months , this milestone birthday will be celebrated across consumer touchpoints with specialty programming and content, exclusive products and home entertainment releases, a dedicated programming page on HBO Max, omnichannel social media campaigns, events and live screenings, and activations focused on fans around the world”.
