The sixth chapter of the ‘Scream’ saga is about to come out of the oven: On February 10, Ghostface will once again conquer theaters around the world in a new film that promises it’s a lot. Five days before its premiere, ‘Scream VI’ was screened an American critic who praised this installment Directed by one of the most terrifying duets of the film scene: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (“Wedding Night”).

The specialized press left the screening very satisfied, emphasizing that we are probably first the best film of the saga after the original, released in 1996 and directed by horror master Wes Craven, who, in addition to generating the ‘Scream’ saga, created other masterpieces of the eighties and nineties such as ‘Swamp Thing’ or the legendary Freddy Krueger film saga.
Kofi Outlaw of ComicBook was one of the first to share his satisfaction with the new plot of the masked killer on social media: “I’ve seen ‘Scream VI’ and it’s BAD! IMHO the best of the franchise (excluding the original of course)”. Also from ComicBook, charlie ridgely comments his astonishment: “Solidly surprising and impressive, never sacrificing the spirit of ‘Scream’, easily the best film since its release in 1996”. Others, like prince jackson of Bloody FM, a medium specializing in terror, give their informed opinion: “This is the ‘Scream’ movie they’ve always wanted to make and I agree 100%. It’s a real slash fest that will make you fall in love with this new generation of the franchise”.
New York, breakthrough
There’s one thing most who’ve shared their early reactions agree on: Ghostface’s move to New York is a success. There is something about this metropolis that permeates whoever sees the film. Melissa Barrera, protagonist of the film, commented with Collider how special the Big Apple is: “In a city like New York, everyone is on their own and if someone asks for help, no one will come to their aid. You know… everyone says: “I’m not going”says the actress who plays Sam Carpenter in the fiction. Another critic emphasizing the importance of the city is podcaster Christian de Optix film: “‘Scream VI’ is a total killer, with no filler and brilliantly integrated characters old and new. Entering New York City provides the perfect atmosphere for new and creative carnage. Ghostface is deadlier than ever, the ‘Scream’ franchise is in excellent hands”. ‘Scream VI’ opens in Spanish cinemas on March 10th.
