Tom Cruise plays Maverick in the flight scenes of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING PART 2

Tom Cruise AND Christopher McCarrie they are currently filming Mission: Impossible – The showdown part 2 and it looks like Cruise will be channeling Maverick in the film. Cruise impressively pulled off some really cool stunts in these Mission: Impossible movies and in the next one, the big stunt involves Cruise riding a motorcycle off a cliff into a base jump. It is said to be the greatest stunt in the history of cinema.

Now Cruise will be back to taking to the skies for some flying stunts for Dead Reckoning Part 2. Variety is reporting that Cruise and McQuarrie filmed on a US aircraft carrier in the Adriatic Sea. Cruise flew to the Italian port city of Bari in a helicopter before taking off on what appears to be the USS George HW Bush, which is a US Navy supercarrier.

That carrier is now “somewhere between Italy and Croatia” where Cruise is shooting the film. With the popularity of Top Gun: Maverick, it seems they wanted to bring some into the Mission: Impossible franchise. There are no details as to what the scenes will involve or what kind of stunt Cruise will pull off, but it’ll be nice to see what turns out!

Mission: Impossible – Showdown it is directed by McQuarrie and they also star Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simone Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa KirbyAND Henry Czerny together with the newcomers Shea Whigham (Joker), Pom Clementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War) AND Esai Morales (La Bamba, Titans), Charles Parnell, Indira Varma (game of Thrones), Marco GatisAND Cary Elwes (Saw).
