Well, now it’s time to see the ones that will surely be useful in some engineering field or, why not, for curious minds. Well, these sci-fi movies could only be solved by math geeks.

And it’s not that they can’t be enjoyed by anyone else, but, just as there are different types of intelligence, these science fiction film for mathematicians they might stimulate minds that have a facility for calculation. Pi, the order of chaos

Directed by Darren Aronofksy, the same person responsible for ‘The Whale’ and ‘Requiem for a Dream’, we have ‘Pi, the order of chaos’, a sci-fi movie perfect for mathematicians. With a touch of horror and suspense, the story follows a mathematician who is working on the number system of the stock market, until he discovers the sequence of chaos. A sci-fi movie that can’t be missed in the math department, is ‘Cube’, which also combines science fiction and terror. The story is directed by Vincezo Natali and follows six strangers who must stick together if they are to survive a twisted mind puzzle, in which, if they fail, they will lose their lives. Available in the Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV stores.

Hailed by many as the most complex film of all time, we have ‘Primer’, a science fiction thriller directed by and starring Shane Carruth. The story follows four young businessmen who are experimenting with a device, with which they accidentally discover that they can travel to different phases of time. Available on Amazon Prime Video.

From the mind of Robert Zemeckis, we have “Contact”, a science fiction film written by popularizer Carl Sagan and starring Jodie Foster, Matthew McConaughey, Jena Malone, among others. The story follows astronomer Ellie Arroway, who, along with her team, discovers a radio signal from outer space, which instructs her to create a machine to create herself with the authors of the message. Staying more on the side of suspense and mystery, we have “The Number 23”, a film with Jim Carrey, Virginia Madsen, Logan Lerman and others. The story follows a man who begins reading a novel that seems to perfectly capture every moment of his life, and becomes obsessed with the book when he discovers the protagonist’s death.
