The film, directed by Trey Edward Shults (Waves AND It comes at night), is currently untitled and the story is shrouded in mystery. All we really know other than the talent involved is that it’s filming in Los Angeles.
Tesfaye’s manufacturing partner Reza Fahim is co-writing and co-producing the film with him, and Kevin Turen AND Harrison Kreiss they are also producing. In the meantime, Chayse Irvin is handling the cinematography, and OPN composer and producer (real name Daniel Lopatin) will co-write the film’s score with The Weeknd himself. OPN has already worked on the scores for Good time AND Uncut gemsin which The Weeknd had a cameo role as himself.
The Weeknd will soon be seen in the upcoming HBO series The idolwhich he co-created with Euphoria’s Sam Levison and Fahim.
