The seventh episode of ‘The Last of Us’ has just premiered on HBO Max, a chapter that introduces us to the last third of the series, whose Season 1 ends March 13. The scene gains strength if we take into account, as confirmed by the screenwriter of the series, Neil Druckman, that Riley is Ellie’s first love and first kiss. However, second relationships journalist Mohamed Khairat, founder of the medium Egyptian Streets, the public in some regions did not have a chance to see the kissing scene, because it is censored in Middle Eastern and North African countries by OSN+the streaming platform tasked with releasing “The Last of Us” in those areas.

Although it is not the first nor the last time that LGTB+ content has been removed from productions in several homophobic countries, Khairat explains in his tweet that this particular case is strange to him, because OSN+ hasn’t removed any scenes, not even the intimate ones, from Chapter 3 of the same series, centered around the same-sex love story between Bill and Frank. However, according to Game Spot, this isn’t the first time OSN+ has censored LGBT+ moments, which they did in “How to Defend a Murderer” and “House of the Dragon.”
