Apple Studios is developing an original drama-thriller series The final frontierwhich was developed by Sam Hargrave (Extraction), who is producing the series and directing the pilot. The series also has a strong cast which includes Jason Clark (Winning time, Zero Dark Thirty) set to lead, Jon Bokenkamp (The blacklist), AND Riccardo D’Ovidio (The call).

The story follows U.S. Marshal Frank Remnick (Clarke), “the sole marshal in charge of the peaceful, rugged Alaskan wilderness, whose jurisdiction is upended when a prison transport plane crashes in a remote wasteland, freeing dozens of inmates.” Charged with protecting the city he promised to keep safe, he begins to suspect that the crash was not an accident, but rather the first step in a well-conceived plan with international political implications.
The series will consist of 10 episodes and I like the concept! This is going to tell a pretty crazy story and I think it’s going to be a great show.
Hargrave recently directed Extraction 2 for Netflix. She is also looking to collaborate with Jake Gyllenhaal for MGM’s Combat controlwhich tells the true story of Medal of Honor winner John Chapman.
