As followers on social media now know, DuBose included a rap that quoted some of the BAFTA Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress nominees, saying, “Angela Bassett did that thing, Viola Davis, my wife King / Blanchett Cate. ” , you are a genius, Jamie Lee, you belong to us all.”
The results drew mixed reviews, prompting DuBose to take a break from social media before returning and joining the good-natured rip, posting some of her favorite footage from her performance.
Count Curtis as a fan. She thought of DeBose appearing on an exclusive meeting Interview at the Producer’s Guild of America Awards, in which she enthusiastically embraces the high-profile moment.
