In November 2022, the creators of the mega-hit ‘Dark’, Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese, returned to Netflix with the premiere of ‘1899’, a mystery series which, despite good audience numbers, fell victim to the wave of cancellations of the streaming giant, and now, this duo of German screenwriters is already preparing their revenge on the platform with the adaptation of ‘Something is killing the children’.

Via The Hollywood Reporter it has been confirmed that Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese are already working on a new Netflix original series which will adapt the comic saga written by James Tynion IV and released in 2019, ‘Something is Killing the Children’, which features a storyline that contains more terror than the previous productions ‘Dark’ and ‘1899’

Even if terror was part of the plots of the previous one series Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese on Netflix”Something is Killing the Children” has a storyline that aims to surpass “Dark” and “1899” in this area, which undoubtedly makes this title one of the most interesting productions prepared by the streaming service.

‘Something is killing the children’ shows how Erica Slaughter will join the search for more missing children from a small town called Archer’s Peak, a mission that will lead this strange young woman to face terrible creatures that inhabit a gloomy world, which terrorize all the population.

Will the creators of ‘Dark’ make it through cancellation on Netflix?

The story presented by ‘Something is Killing the Children’ looks terrifying and interesting, so once it is adapted into the Netflix series, it will surely captivate millions of users, however, what is clear is that the creators of ‘Dark’ AND ‘1899’ will have to work hard to get the increasingly difficult renewal for a second season of this title.

For now, we’ll have to wait a bit to find out when it’s released Netflix’s new horror seriesand given that it is in the pre-production stage, it is very likely that the wait will be long, since everything seems to indicate that the launch of this title would not be in 2023, so it could arrive in 2024.
