It seems that Rihanna was not satisfied after dazzling with her performance at the Super Bowl. The artist has a thirst for the stage and to try to appease it will sing on March 12 at the 95th Academy Awards. This is confirmed by Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner, executive producers of the gala.

To the sound of ‘Lift Me Up’, the one from Barbados will bring the atmospheres of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ to the Dolby Theater in the heart of Hollywood Boulevard. Recall that Rihanna is nominated for her first Oscar with this song written by her, Ryan Coogler (director of the saga) and Ludwig Göransson (composer of ‘Creed III’) in tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the late actor who played Black Panther.
If all goes particularly well for the 2000s superstar, he’ll take the stage twice, once to sing and once to collect his statuette, but the competition is stiff and there’s no clear prognosis. Rihanna is nominated alongside: Lady Gaga and Bloodpop for “Top Gun: Maverick” with “Hold My Hand”; David Byrne, Ryan Lott and Mitski for ‘Everything at Once Everywhere’ with ‘This is a Life’; Kala Bahairava, MM Keeravani and Rahul Sipligunj for ‘RRR’ with ‘Naacho Naacho’; and finally the eternal candidate without a prize (thirteen defeats) Diane Warren for ‘Tell It Like a Woman’ with ‘Applause’.
We’ll have to stick with the desire to hear another “rap” by Ariana DeBose. However, after halftime of the NFL Finals, definitely Rihanna will be able to capture the interest of an audience that decreases over the years.
The gala presenter
For the third time, not in a row, Jimmy Kimmel will host the North American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences gala. The American presenter is not new to this, however, Kimmel it is still very far from reaching other stars like Billy Crystal (“In the mind of Robin Williams”) who presented nine of the editions, or cinema’s most hilarious nun, Whoopi Goldberg, who racks up eleven galas presented to hold the record.
