Director James Cameron he is a busy man. From return to Avatars franchise, he clarified that he plans to see the series with a third, fourth, and fifth film to finish its story, and aside from those, he only plans to make a couple more films before bowing out. Now she has revealed that one of those films that she would like to make is an adaptation Carlo R. Pellegrinononfiction novel The Last Train from Hiroshima: The Lost Book of Survivors.
In a recent interview with the LA Times, Cameron explained:
“We live in a more precarious world than we thought,” Cameron says, reflecting on the war in Ukraine and resurgent nationalism. “I think the Hiroshima movie would be as timely as ever, if not more so. It reminds people of what these weapons really do when used against human targets.”
Like his second film Avatar, Avatar: The Way of Water, the Hiroshima movie looks like it was meant to be experienced on the big screen. In fact, all of Cameron’s films should be viewed this way. “Enough of streaming already,” he told the Independent at the Golden Globes. “I’m tired of sitting on my ass.”
The director would like to make this film between completion Avatars 3 AND Avatars 4. He went on to talk about the movie experience, saying:
“I don’t think it will ever go away, because it’s something specific. The arrangement we make to go dive without distractions, is like doing yoga or going for a walk in the forest for a couple of hours. There is something that I still think is sacred.”
I agree. I grew up going to the cinema to see each new release, and it has continued to be a tradition I hold dear. I like the ability to stream some things, since we have so much new content and we can’t spend our days in the theater, but I like going to the movies and I think it’s a part of our culture that goes nowhere.
