Richard Gere and his family are recovering in Mexico after weeks of illness, a representative confirmed to Deadline.
The actor was vacationing with his family in Nuevo Vallarta and contracted pneumonia. He was taken to hospital and is recovering.
Gere was celebrating his wife’s 40th birthday with their young children when they fell ill. His wife Alejandra Silvia shared an update on her health on social media.
“Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes… after almost 3 weeks of everyone in our family being sick I’m finally feeling much better today! Thank you for all the love I give back to you all,” said Silva’s Instagram post that she shared on Thursday.
