If you were a star in one of the most famous film franchises of all time, you would definitely want to take a few pieces of memorabilia home with you after filming, especially if you spent a good portion of your childhood on these sets and had the memories most beautiful while I was making films. This was the case with the actors Rupert Grintwho played Ron Weasley; Emma Watson, which played Hermione Granger; AND Daniel Radcliffwho plays Harry Potter.

In a recent fan Q&A session for British GQ, Grint said:

“[I kept] quite a few things actually. I have the tie that you will give yourself before being sorted to your home. And my Gryffindor tie.”

THE Servant the star recalled that security measures were tightened during the final films. So she had to be creative in collecting some of her souvenirs of hers.

“The last few days of shooting, there was security… they were hot. So they didn’t really want you to steal anything. But I got away with a few things. I took Harry’s door number on Privet Drive. I had to unscrew it with a small piece of gravel. Very shady actually.

The actor noted that he also kept part of a chess piece. And he also got hold of Dumbledore’s gift to Ron, a magical light controller called a deluminator.

In 2010, Emma Watson told Collider:

“I asked permission to take Hermione’s time-turner from the third film, my cloak and my wand. So those are my three things that I brought with me.

Of course he asked for permission. How Hermione is of her. Daniel Radcliffe also took some items, and one of them is really strange… In a 2022 interview with BBC Radio 1, the actor explained:

“I have a lot of stuff from Potter. I actually have somewhere…in my parents’ house, I guess, maybe in the attic…a prosthetic arm that was modeled for me in the scene where Harry lost all the bones in his arm. So I have a big, floppy arm in my attic. And also a mold of my face that was taken when I was 10 or 11, which looks like a death mask.

I bet most of the cast members got away with a memory or two. It’s fun to hear what was special to them. If you were a Harry Potter cast member, what would you take from the set?
