Jonathan Major he’s the new big bad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he’s set to appear as Kang the Conqueror Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania. But this is only the beginning for him as his reign of terror will extend until 2025 Avengers: Kang Dynasty. So fans better get ready because things are going to get pretty wild!
It turns out Majors almost missed out on this epic opportunity! In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the actor revealed that he’s exited his first general meeting with the studio. That’s right, he just got up and left because he didn’t want to waste anyone’s time. He explained:
“Hope this doesn’t bite my ass, but I’m out of my general Marvel [meeting]. That was a long time ago. I was just out of drama school and I’m running around town and sitting in the office. I grew up in a very particular way and I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. So I went in and they are just busy. And I was like, ‘I should be here, right?’ It lasted a long time and I said, “I’m just going.” Is fantastic. I’m just going.’”
Then Majors got up and started to leave, but luckily he couldn’t get out of the building. One went to share what happened next:
“I got to the door, but then they said [casting director] Sarah Finn was about to cum. We went into the room and chatted. We were having this amazing conversation. I think it’s been three years since we had the chat with Kang. And now there is no trepidation, especially for who Kang is. When I said yes, we got the full picture and what is being presented is consistent.
Now Majors plays one of the most complex and fascinating villains in the MCU and if anyone was going to be able to effectively pull it off, it’s him. Just wait until you see what they have planned for him when you watch Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania.
Kevin Feige also recently talked about how Kang is the highest rated villain in Marvel history with test screening audiences! He explained:
“For years, we’ve always had a feeling that Kang would be a great follow-up to Thanos. He’s the same stature in the comics, but he’s a completely different villain. Mainly, because he has more villains. He’s so unique from Thanos, that we liked Very.
“At the dawn of Quantummania [test screenings], Jonathan started playing great. He’s the most challenging villain we’ve ever had among our friends and families [screenings]. That’s really saying something with a film like this. Even in the beginning without the effects, Jonathan is his own effect. He was working from the start.”
I thought Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania it was an entertaining film, and while it wasn’t perfect, it still provided great entertainment. Majors stole the show, though, and I’m thrilled with what they have planned for him in the future.
