How many seasons will there be of ‘Willow’?

It’s a fair question, especially considering how season 1 ended. At the beginning of each of the eight episodes of Willow, an open book on the ‘chapter’ of history. While it’s an incredibly beautiful visual way to begin the story, after the credits roll at the end of season one, viewers watch as the book is closed and put back on the shelf. In doing so, the stowed book is revealed to be titled “Volume 1”. It is joined by volumes 2 and 3, suggesting that Willow’s new story should take place over three seasons.

However, as of February 2023, it has not been officially announced that the show has been renewed. Still worth listening to. Ron Howard, director of the original film and EP of the series, the outlook is good. “There was always hope and a plan for more seasons. There are certainly other stories to be told, but there is nothing concrete I can comment on at this time,” said Ron Howard. DAY. “Creatively, everyone is full of energy. Everyone loved to work Willow. It seemed like she’d found her voice and her poise, so we’re just waiting.”

Is Val Kilmer in “Willow”?

part of the pleasure Willow The series was seeing the return of many of the original stars. In addition to Warwick as Willow, Joanne Whalley she also returned as Queen Sorsha, as well as kevin pollack as Rool, a brownie and former traveling companion of Willow and Madmartigan. But what about Madmartigan, played by the handsome Val Kilmer and Joanne’s real husband, in 1988?

Well, the plan was for him to come back, making a cameo in Season 1, just like he did in T.Operational Weapon: Maverick. While Madmartigan still played a significant role in the sequel to the Disney+ series, Val was unable to look the way she wanted due to Covid protocols. Given her long battle with throat cancer, that meant she wasn’t safe for Kilmer to travel to set. The show managed to fix this by enlisting the help of its son, Jack. Twice during the show, Kit hears the voice of her father Madmartigan, who was actually Val’s son, playing the role that would have fathered her.

“We actually recorded with Val and used her performance as a guide.” Willow showrunner Jonathan Kasdan contacted decisive. “So Jack was given Val’s performance to hear and then copy what his father had done in terms of, you know, elements of Val’s acting. So to have him there on set, voicing his father like he did for the documentary that they did, it was surreal and very emotional because, you know, Val is an intrinsic part of the family. She is a critical element of Willow. He’s still with us as a supporter, advocate and adviser in terms of how to keep this character alive. and I think [he] I would very much like to return to the screen if the occasion permits”.

So, if all goes well and LucasFilms and Disney greenlight a second season, there might be hope that Val could return!
