dana gurira, born February 14, 1978, is one of the fiercest actresses in Hollywood right now. The Zimbabwean-American actress and playwright had already made her mark in the theater industry before becoming a megastar. Her career reached new heights in 2012 when she was cast in the popular TV series, living Dead at the AMC. In a role that required both skill and poise, she played katana-wielding warrior Michonne through 2020 and again in the series’ final season in 2022.

Not limited to one medium, Danai Gurira’s talents extend to the big screen as well. He brought the Wakandan warrior, Okoye, to life in Marvel’s Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers endingAND Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

But her success on the big screen hasn’t stopped Danai from pursuing her passion for the small stage. Her highly decorated career as a playwright includes a 2016 Tony Award nomination for her Broadway play, eclipsed.

And despite it all, she was a fashion powerhouse. No matter the occasion, Danai does it all when it comes to style. She looked utterly electric during the London premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 3, 2022. Her black and gold Elie Saab dress was paired with gold leaf in her hair. Beautiful!

Danai Gurira turned heads in a bright green and pink Versace coat during the 32nd Annual Gotham Awards in New York City on Nov. 28, 2022. She paired her bold coat with a corset-inspired gown, Medusa gladiator heels and all natural hair.
