The film is Jordan’s directorial debut and is the first film in the Rocky franchise not to feature Sylvester Stallone.
The synopsis reads:
After dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed (Jordan) has thrived in both career and family life. When childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian (Jonathan Majors), resurfaces after serving a lengthy prison sentence, he’s eager to prove that he deserves his chance in the ring.
But the face-to-face between the two former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to fight Damian, a fighter who has nothing to lose.
Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin wrote the screenplay from a story they wrote with Ryan Coogler. Jordan and Majors are joined in the cast by Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Mila Davis-Kent, Florian Munteanu and Phylicia Rashad.
