Vin Diesel returns to one of the best sci-fi sagas: ‘Riddick 4’ confirmed

Now that “Fast and Furious” is about to conclude its story with the eleventh part, Vin Diesel is about to return to another of his most acclaimed franchises. This is ‘Riddick’, whose development has already been officially confirmed, after 10 years of absence from one of the best science fiction sagas seen on the big screen.

According to information from Deadline, it officially confirm ‘riddick 4’, which is already underway with Vin Diesel again in the lead role of Richard B. Riddick. It is worth mentioning that right now the three science fiction films of the saga can be found on different platforms, such as HBO Max, Star +, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

With the announcement, it is confirmed that Vin Diesel will be the protagonist ‘riddick 4’, and more, will report David Twohy, the original director of the first chapter of the saga. It is worth mentioning that this role was the first that Diesel agreed to play twice, in exchange for his return to the “Fast and Furious” saga, with the agreement that the rights to Riddick would return to his hands.

For now, it is known that the fourth film’s official title is ‘Riddick: Furya’, which will have Twohy himself as screenwriter, responsible for the scripts for the previous three installments. It was the director himself who thanked the fans who have remained until now: “Our legion of fans have been asking for this film for years and, finally, we are now ready to honor their requests”.

What will ‘Riddick: Furya’ talk about with Vin Diesel?

The story of ‘Riddick: Furya’ will now show the return of the character of Vin Diesel to his home planet, of which he no longer remembers anything, and of which he believes everything was devastated by the Necromongers. But once he arrives, he discovers that the last settlers are in battle against a new enemy, who has much in common with the protagonist.

“In this new cinematic event we will see Riddick return to his home world where he can finally explore his origins,” said the director. “My partnership with Vin and One Race spanned 20 fruitful years in which we created three films, two games, an anime production, and animated comics for the Internet.”

The fourth film in the saga will tell the origins of the character of Vin Diesel, and at the moment there is no longer a cast related to the film. There is not even a release date for ‘Riddick: Furya’, but taking into account the fact that Diesel is still working on ‘Fast and Furious 11’, everything points to this film still having a few more years to go.
