It is not the first time that Fraser has expressed the desire to revive the saga with ‘The Mummy 4’, in a 2022 interview with Variety, the actor has already explained that he intends to make a fourth film: “I don’t know how that would work. But I’d be open to it if anyone has the right idea.” In that same interview, Fraser also shared his take on why ‘The Mummy’ starring Tom Cruise failed, believing a very important element of the saga was missing: “It’s hard to make a film like this. The ingredient we had in our mom that I hadn’t seen in that movie was funny. This was what was missing in this incarnation. It felt like a horror movie and ‘The Mummy’ is supposed to be a thrilling ride, but not terrifying or terrifying.”
