Almost two decades after his The Last Crusade, Harrison Ford he’s back in his iconic leather jacket for the highly anticipated reunion with Steven Spielberg AND George Luke in 2008 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. But, after the film’s release, not everyone felt the love of Indiana Jones.

Both critics and audiences were a little less enthusiastic about the film. But Ford isn’t really fazed by it. When asked about the harsh reactions during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he quipped, “Where are they now?” and said:
“No, I mean, [the critics] they were strict, but what are they doing now? I understand. But those were their rules, no [director Steven Spielberg’s and co-writer George Lucas’] rules. They were imposing their own rules on how the film should be. I don’t think there is a need to address these issues. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion. The film was not as successful as we would have liked, perhaps. But it didn’t create an attitude or behavior that carried over into this film.”
Even though it’s widely considered the weakest of the four films, 78% of the reviews are still positive according to Rotten Tomatoes. And let’s be real, a box office gross of $790.7 million worldwide is still a lot of money!
At that time, the casting of Shia LaBeouf it led many to think he would take the reins from Ford, but thankfully that didn’t happen. Ford wasn’t ready to hang up the whip yet and will play Indiana Jones for one last directorial venture James Mangold’S Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
I watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull again last year and although it has many funny moments it could and should have been so much better still. Just some stupid decisions were made.
