Oscar production team: Rickey Minor returns as music director; 28-year Telecast veteran Rob Paine was named co-EP

The Oscars, which air March 12 on ABC, have assembled the rest of their main production team. The lineup ranges from veteran lighting designer Robert Dickinson, making his 34th trip on the show, and co-executive producer Rob Paine, celebrating his 28th, to three new female producers getting their first shot at the venerable awards show.

Rickey Minor takes over as conductor of the orchestra for the first time since 2020, while Dave Boone returns as writer, his 13th Oscars in the past quarter century. Executive producers and showrunners Glenn Weiss (who is also running the show for the 8th time) and Ricky Kirshner made the announcement.

Rob pain has worked on the Oscars program for more than two decades and returns for his 28th year in a new role as co-executive producer. Paine has more than 200 credits to his name spanning four decades. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for co-executive production of the Outstanding Variety Special Pre-Recorded “Adele: One Night Only” and received 14 Primetime Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award and the Emerson College Distinguished Alumni Award . He specializes in live big events on TV such as Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration, Super Bowl Halftime Shows, Primetime Emmy Awards And The Kennedy Center Awards.

Manufacturer Sarah Levine Room takes part in the transmission of the Oscars for the first time. She is an Emmy Award-nominated producer known for her work in live and variety television specials. Her credits include working with White Cherry Entertainment on the Tony Awards, Kennedy Center Honors and Primetime Emmy AwardsPresenting the Tony Awards: Broadway is back! And Celebrate America: A Special Housewarming Night.

Raj Kapoor has been associated with the Oscar show for six years and returns as producer. He received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won a Primetime Emmy Award for executive producing the Outstanding Variety Special Pre-Recorded, Adele: Just one night. Kapoor’s recent credits include Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration, Norman Lear: 100 Years of Music and Laughter, Grammy Awards, Latin Grammys, various The Disney family sings songs together Specials and Come Against Cancer.

Taryn Hurd returns to the Oscars as a talent producer for the tenth year in a row. She has also served as a talent producer on the last seven Governors Awards ceremonies, as well as numerous television specials and awards shows.

Erin Irwin joins the Oscar production team as a producer. She is an Executive Producer at Jimmy KimmelLive! and has worked with Kimmel for 25 years, starting with The men’s performance on Comedy Central. Irwin has proven to be a regular on Kimmel, producing the show for nearly 20 years, rising from supervising producer to co-executive producer before being named executive producer in 2021. Irwin’s other productions include the Emmy Awards, the Oscars, The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show, Donny & Marie, later And The Wayne Brady Showfor which she won a Daytime Emmy in 2003.

Jennifer Sharon joins the Oscar production team as a producer. She serves as executive producer Jimmy KimmelLive! and received 11 Emmy nominations for her contributions to the show. Sharron joined the show when it started in 2003 and has progressed from Executive Assistant to Executive Producer over the past 20 years. As the show’s producer, she was tasked with overseeing the outside production team responsible for all of the show’s pre-taped and live comedy segments. Sharron has lent her production skills to other marquee events in the industry and has produced at both the Primetime Emmy Awards and the Oscars.

Nephetari Spencer joins the Oscar production team as a writer. She began her career as a production coordinator and assistant to Bernie Mac. Her authorship includes material for Anthony Anderson, Deon Cole, Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Taraji P. Henson, Leslie Jones, Niecy Nash, Craig Robinson and more. Spencer also wrote and starred in the one-woman show I Am Willa. Her previous award credits include the Primetime Emmy AwardsDick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, Soul Train Awards, American Music Awards, BET Awards and more.

Agatha Panaretos returns as a writer for her third Oscar performance. She was a major writer for The Onion and has written for several shows, including Netflix’s first late-night talk show, Chelsea, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023MTV Movie & TV Awards 2022, MTV Video Music Awards 2021, The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards, The Kennedy Center Honors and Crank Yankers. Her work has also been featured on E!, Funny or Die and Team Coco.

David Boone is a three-time Emmy and three-time Writers Guild of America award-winning writer and producer. He returned for his 13th Oscar telecast and began his Oscar journey as a member of Billy Crystal’s crew at the 70th Academy Awards. Boone reunites with Crystal at the 72nd, 76th and 84th Academy Awards. He also wrote for presenters Whoopi Goldberg and Steve Martin and was lead writer for Neil Patrick Harris at the 87th Oscars. The head writer of 18 consecutive Tony Awards telecasts, Boone’s other credits include Primetime Emmy Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, The Kennedy Center Honors and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. Boone is also in demand as a Script Doctor for Broadway.

music director Ricky Minor returns to the Oscars after last serving as music director in 2020. He received 14 Emmy nominations and won twice for Outstanding Music Direction. Numerous TV appearances by Minor includes We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, American Idol, The Kennedy Center Honors, Grammy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Minor has also collaborated with Adele, Jon Batiste, Beyoncé, John Legend, Ed Sheeran and many more.

lighting designer Robert Dickinson returns for his 34th Oscar performance. During his four-decade career, he won 18 Primetime Emmy Awards and made more than 1,500 television appearances. His credits include The Kennedy Center Honors, Grammy Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, Tony Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Academy of Country Music Awards; Olympic ceremonies in Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Athens, Vancouver and Shanghai; Super Bowl halftime shows and Democratic national conventions. Dickinson has also worked on numerous TV music specials for Christina Aguilera, Cher, Celine Dion, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Elton John, Ricky Martin, NSYNC, Rolling Stones, Barbra Streisand, Taylor Swift, James Taylor, Justin Timberlake and others worked U2. Dickinson received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama for his work and influence.
