Universal Pictures has released a red-band trailer for its upcoming R-rated revenge comedy Strays, and takes dog movies to a more raunchy place. This is definitely a unique take on dog movies! Most of them are family movies that you would take the kids to see, but this is not it!

The film is directed by Josh Greenbaum (Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar) from a script written by Dan Perrault (Players, American vandal). It is described as a “hilarious, R-rated, live-action comedy about the complications of love, the importance of great friendships, and the unexpected virtues of couch-hopping.”

The film also has an entertaining cast which includes Will Ferrell, Will Forte, Jamie Fox, Fisher IslandAND Randall Park. Here is the synopsis:

They say a dog is a man’s best friend, but what if the man is a total wimp? If so, it might be time for some sweet, doggy-style revenge.

When Reggie (Will Ferrell), a naive and relentlessly optimistic Border Terrier, is abandoned on the streets of the city by his owner, Doug (Will Forte; The Last Man on Earth, Nebraska), Reggie is certain that his beloved owner would never purposely leave him.

But once Reggie runs into a fast-talking, foul-mouthed Boston Terrier named Bug (Jamie Foxx), a stray who loves his freedom and believes the owners are idiots, Reggie finally realizes he’s in a toxic relationship and begins seeing Doug for the heartless sleazeball he is.

Determined to take revenge, Reggie, Bug and Bug’s friends Maggie (ISla Fisher; Now You See Me, Wedding Crashers), an intelligent Australian Shepherd who was sidelined by his owner’s new puppy, and Hunter (Randall Park; Always be my maybe, Aquaman), an anxious Great Dane who is stressed by his job as an emotional support animal—together they hatch a plan and embark on an epic adventure to help Reggie find her way home…and make it pay for Doug biting off the appendage he loves best. (Hint: it’s not his foot).

Supporting cast includes Josh Gad (The beauty and the Beast), Harvey Guillen (Puss in Boots: The Last Wish), Rob Riggle (The Hangover), Brett Gelmann (Stranger things), Jamie Demetrius (The afterparty), AND Sofia Vergare (Modern family).

The film is produced by the founder and CEO of Picturestart Erik Feig (The luckiest girl in the world, Cha Cha True Smooth), Of Louis Letterier (director Fast X, The clash of the titans), Of Dan Perrault (Players, American vandal) and of Phil Lord AND Chris Miller (Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part) and Lord Miller President of Film Aditya Sood (The Martian, the cocaine bear).

Strays will be released in theaters on June 9.
