John Krasinsky shared set photos from the first day of filming of his prequel, A quiet place: first day. The film serves as a rewind of the first film in the series A quiet place franchise. The first two movies both jumped a bit in the apocalypse timeline; the first film opens on day 89 before jumping ahead to detail the dramatic events of day 472 and 473. Second part takes place in the days immediately following, but the film opens on the first day.

The prequel, based on the characters and an idea by Krasinski, is directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig), and newcomers joining the cast include Lupita Nyong’o (We), Joseph Quinn (Stranger things), AND Alex Wolf (Hereditary).
