‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, a Marvel Cinematic Universe film closing 2022 for Marvel Studios in theaters, just premiered on Disney+. In it we saw the MCU debut of Dominique Thorne, an actress who plays Riri Williams / Ironheart, a college student with one of the best minds in the country who built her armor in the Iron Man style. Following his appearance in ‘Wakanda Forever,’ Thorne will have his own series on Disney+”Ironheart”, the premiere of which is scheduled for autumn 2023.

It mustn’t be easy to bear the pressure and fears that come with belonging to a franchise as exposed as Marvel Studios, but it’s more bearable when the house players support you. This is the case involving Robert Downey Jr., one of the MCU’s most prominent players for his role as Iron Man. In an interview with The Direct, Thorne explained that she and Downey Jr. have been talking about joining the franchise And? The actor told him that he saw her prepared: “It was a good conversation. And I think the moment was the most significant, right at the end of filming (for ‘Ironheart’). We haven’t had many opportunities to connect before, but I think it worked out pretty well, because the first what he told us was that he had no advice to give me. And he thought I was good enough and that I would do well.”
While she didn’t give him advice at first, she couldn’t help but give him some as the conversation progressed: “She talked a lot about making sure Riri was herself and all the things I can bring to her existence, what that means and what she stands for and what she can offer. She was focused on being authentic and true to that. And then what I have to stay near and dear to my heart. it kind of lifted me up as I continue to navigate all that this life can be, which I am grateful for. But yeah, it was definitely a good conversation.”
About “Iron Heart”
There isn’t much information yet on ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ spin-off ‘Ironheart’, but we know that, in addition to focusing on Riri Williams, the project will introduce the villain The Hood (Anthony Ramos), a criminal who seems wrapped in a magical ritual that gives him mystical powers related to the dark dimension. Thanks to the contrast between Riri’s source of power and that of The Hood, “Ironheart” will explore the conflict between magic and technology. Ryan Coogler, director and writer of ‘Wakanda Forever’, is executive producer of the series for the character to continue in line with what has already been seen.
‘Ironheart’ premiere is scheduled for autumn 2023.
