MGM has released the director’s first trailer Guy Richieit’s the next movie The deal. The film is the protagonist Jake Gyllenhaal, and it feels like an incredibly intense action thriller that tells a great story. I really liked what I saw in this trailer and Ritchie seems to have made an amazing film!
Gyllenhaal plays Sgt. John Kinley, “who is in his last tour of duty in Afghanistan when he’s paired with local interpreter Ahmed (Dar Salim) to survey the region. When their unit is ambushed on patrol, Kinley and Ahmed are the only survivors, and with enemy combatants in pursuit, Ahmed risks his life to carry a wounded Kinley to safety across miles of grueling terrain. Back on American soil, Kinley discovers that Ahmed and his family have not been granted passage to America as promised. Determined to protect his friend and pay off his debt, Kinley returns to the war zone to retrieve Ahmed and his family before the local militias get to them first.
This is definitely a different kind of film for Ritchie, who has never made a move like this before. I really like that he’s playing with different stories and genres. He’s come a long way since then Lock, Stock and two smoking barrelsand became an incredibly talented director and storyteller.
The Covenant will be released in theaters on April 21st. Can’t wait to see this movie! Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think!
