James Gunn and Peter Safran announced their plans for this new era of the DC Universe a few days ago. James Gunn Explains From Which Movie His DC Universe Will Be Fully Connected

The film, which DC’s coCEO himself defines as “one of the best superhero movies”, It will close story arcs and open others. However, Gunn reveals that it won’t be a drastic and disjointed leap from the rest of the films. Come on, it’s a reset but with meaning.

Unsurprisingly, the twist that Gunn and Safran pulled off raises a lot of questions from fans. The upside to that is having someone like Gunn at the head of the universe, someone who if you have any questions you might try tweeting or commenting on his Instagram wall will likely answer. An indignant user criticized Gunn, via a comment on his social media, that the reset did not affect 100% of the franchise, as he had assured. Pissed that Viola Davis will continue to play Amanda Waller, the fan criticizes the inaccuracy of the director of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’: “Aren’t you resetting the universe 100%? That includes ‘The Peacemaker’, ‘Suicide Squad’ and the Snyderverse”, criticized the follower. The well-known Gunn decided to respond with a note of irony and another of information: “No. ‘The Flash’ is a reboot of many things, not all. Some characters stay the same, some don’t”Gunn clarified.

The real before and after wouldn’t come until “Superman: Legacy,” in 2025. It’s from then on that Gunn can “I commit” that there won’t be a loose fringe in the DC Universe. “The only thing we can promise is that everything from Superman on, from our first project onwards, will be canon and connected. [Por ahora] We count on some actors from the past, with others not, but everything, from then on, you will be connected and consistent”.

What can we see from DC between now and 2025?

‘The Flash’ is expected to arrive in June of this year and with it the reboot announced by Gunn. However, ‘Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters’ will officially arrive in 2025 with ‘Superman: Legacy’ as the seed of this new era. Until then five movies will be in charge of closing this “end party” of what will become the ancestor of the new DC: ‘Blue Beetle’, starring Xolo Mariduela is expected for this 2023; “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” which is delayed and arrives as a Christmas present on December 25; ‘Shazam! The fury of the gods, after several postponements, anticipates its arrival in theaters on March 17th and finally the spark that dismantles part of current DC, ‘The Flash’, with a June 23 release date.
