The new chapter in the “Scream” saga, already the sixth, will hit theaters on March 10 and promises to continue reinventing itself. The first big change is that “Scream VI” will no longer take place in Woodsboro, but will move the action (rather than the killings) to New York, where the characters of Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding have moved fleeing the trauma.
This franchise has never skimped twisthiding the killer in plain sight, and now the official synopsis for ‘Scream VI’ shared by Alamo Drafthouse promises new twists and more prominence for Ortega who is no longer just a damsel in distress: “As the survivors of the recent attack in Woodsboro travel to New York City for college, Tara, our latest girlfriend, he begins to experience manic psychological breakdowns as he sees the ghosts of past killers. Meanwhile, her sister, Sam, tries to manipulate her by posing as Ghostface. But when their plan goes awry, three new masked assassins appear on the scene, leaving the question of who will survive and who will be the final victim to be answered.
Final gils Traumatized
According to this anticipation, Sam (Barrera), in addition to being the daughter of Billy Loomis, one of the original Ghostfaces, will have a darker side than the previous survivors, some of which are present in the film such as Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed) and Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers).
