James Gunn Says THE FLASH Is ‘One Of The Greatest Superhero Movies Ever’ And Ezra Miller’s Involvement Is In The Air

James Gunn is delivering some incredibly high praise for the next DC film The flash saying it is “arguably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made”. We just have to see. I’m excited about the movie, but only because Michael Keaton is back to play Batman! That’s really all I’m looking forward to. But I hope it’s as great as Gunn says.

As for Ezra Miller’s future involvement, that’s still up in the air. But they could very well come back and continue playing Barry Allan/The Flash for DC Studios which is just crazy to me after their erratic behavior and all the crazy things they’ve done! When discussing Miller Safran said:

“Ezra is fully committed to their recovery and we fully support the journey they are on right now. When the time is right, when they feel ready for discussion, we will all understand what is the best path forward. But right now, they are fully focused on their recovery. And in our conversations with them over the past couple of months, they seem to be making tremendous progress.”

At least Miller is getting the help he needs. But, at the same time, they’ve done so much to taint their image. It’s going to be really interesting to see how that plays out with the future of DC Studios. Miller began treatment this summer for a previously undiagnosed mental health condition and they’ve been out of harm’s way since.

Gunn and Safran confirmed that the Andy Muschietti-direct film The flash it will reset everything. There’s no word on exactly how that will happen, but it’s safe to say that it’s about cracking the whole multiverse thing.

When it comes to upcoming DC movies The flash, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Blue BeetleAnd Aquaman 2Safran said, “These four films are amazing. There’s no reason why none of the characters and the actors who play those characters aren’t a part of the DCU. There is nothing against this happening.

This film will open up the DC multiverse, the director previously teased “everything you’ve seen exists.” The flash will see Barry Allen “break the bonds of physics to crash into various parallel dimensions, where he will meet slightly different versions of the classic DC heroes”.

There’s no official synopsis, but this is essentially a Flashpoint movie. We will see Barry Allen running for the DC multiverse.

Miller will be joined by Ben Affleck as Batman, Michael Keaton like Batman, e Sasha Calle as Supergirl, along with several other cast members from the DC universe. The flash will be released on June 23, 2023.
