Amazon has released several preview photos from one of Prime Video’s next big series titled The power. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Naomi Alderman and the story centers on all the teenage girls of the world as they mysteriously develop electrical powers that allow them to electrocute people at will.

It is explained that “it is not long before they discover that older women also have the Power, which teenage girls can awaken within them. Suddenly, the global balance of power starts to change completely.”

The show will follow the storylines of multiple characters scattered around the world: “Margot is an American politician and Jos her daughter, who struggles to control her Power, while Tunde is a video journalist investigating the Power, Allie a young girl who runs away from her abusive foster home after gaining power, and Roxy, the daughter of London mob boss Bernie, frustrated by her family’s patriarchal structure. The life of each character is dramatically disrupted by the emergence of electricity.

The cast includes Tony Colletta (Hereditary) as Margot Cleary-Lopez, Giovanni Leguizzamo (violent night) as Rob Lopez, Auli’i Cravalho (Vaiana) as Jos Cleary-Lopez, Tobeh Jimoh (Ted Lasso) as Tunde Ojo, Josh Charles (The good wife) as Daniel Dandon, Eddie Marsan (The Gentlemen) as Bernie Monke, Ria Zmitrowicz (Mr Selfridge) as Roxy Monke, Zrinka Cvitešić (Spy of London) as Tatiana Moskalev, and Halle Bush as Allie Montgomery.

True blood‘S Raelle Tucker serves as showrunner of the series. The power will premiere on Prime Video in March.
