David Dastmalchian launches his production company Good Fiend Films

David Dastmalchian he’s one of those character actors that you’ve seen appear in so many franchises and movies, and he has so much exciting stuff coming up, it’s exciting to see his career unfold. We saw it for the first time The dark Knightand since then, he has joined the Ant man film franchise, returned to DC with The suicide squadappeared in Bird box, Jay and Silent Bob reboot, DuneAnd Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, it seems his acting career alone is enough to keep him busy! But the guy made a comic and now he has launched his own production company called Good Fiend Films.

The company will seek to produce character-driven projects across horror, science fiction and fantasy for film, television, audio and publishing. Dastmalchian says he envisions his company “as a home for stories about complex characters from all walks of life. Good Fiend Films will aim to generate nostalgic and entertaining content that captivates audiences by reminding them that they are not alone in this scary world.”

The actor told Deadline:

“It is an exciting time for elevated genres and I am grateful to enter the market with a strong collection of ideas and projects in various stages of creation. I’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with some of the best minds in entertainment and learned a lot about myself and the art of storytelling. At this stage of my journey to mental wellbeing and addiction recovery, I am honored to lead Good Fiend Films as we grapple with tough questions through the entertaining lens of science fiction, horror and superhero storytelling.

First on the company’s agenda is horror Late night with the devil, starring Dastmalchian as 1970s late night talk show host Jack Delroy, on which both the actor and his company hold production credits. The film from writer-directors Colin and Cameron Cairnes, Image Nation Abu Dhabi and Spooky Pictures will have its world premiere at SXSW in March.

Dastmalchian also returns to the MCU on February 17 with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania. She will later star alongside the Oscar nominee Keira Knightley in the true crime drama Boston StranglerComing to Hulu March 17.

Upcoming projects for the actor in the summer include the Amblin horror thriller The last voyage of the Demetrathat Universal will distribute on August 11, and on the 20th the adaptation of the story by Stephen King The boogeymanwith Sophie Thatcher, Lisa Gaye-Hamilton And Chris Messinawhich recently moved from a planned Hulu release to debut in theaters on June 2.
