‘One Piece’: First poster and image of the live action anime series, which will debut on Netflix in 2023

Live action adaptations of original manga or anime stories are always a very sensitive issue for their fans, it is inevitable to doubt the fidelity to the original product. Fear increases when it comes to “One Piece”, one of the most famous and loved (if not the most) anime in the history of which Netflix is ​​about to release a live action series. To prepare for your arrival, The streaming platform has just released the first official poster of the project, confirming that the series will premiere this year:

Although from behind, in the poster we get the first look at Iñaki Godoy (“Who killed Sara?”) as Luffy, the protagonist pirate of the manga and anime. Similarly to the anime, the character is dressed in red and wears his signature straw hat.so it’s easy to know it’s him, but, in case there was any doubt, his raised fist pose will surely be very familiar to anyone who sees or reads ‘One Piece’.

In addition to the poster, Netflix has shared in its catalog another image of the series that we show you below, but the same thing happens as in the previous one, the characters have their backs turned and we can only appreciate their silhouettes. Despite this, let’s get our first look at the rest of the main characters of ‘One Piece’. From left to right, Sanji in his usual black suit, Nami with his staff, Luffy, Usopp and Zoro. Certainly the Going Merry could not be missing, the legendary ship that accompanied the crew on so many adventures.

Matt Owens (‘SHIELD Agents’) and Steven Maeda (‘Lost’) are the showrunners, while, as Netflix has already confirmed, Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu Arata, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson and Taz Skylar play Luffy, Zoro, Nami , Usopp and Sanji respectively. And very good news for ‘One Piece’ lovers: Eiichiro Oda, creator of the manga, is the executive producer of the live-action series.

‘One Piece’, which follows the adventures of the pirate crew led by Luffy during the search for the legendary One Piece treasure, premiered on Netflix in 2023.
