The first actress to play Wednesday Adams, Lisa Loring, died on January 28 at the age of 64 from a strokeas reported by Laurie Jacobson, a close friend, on her Facebook account.
The friend confirmed that: “4 days ago he had a stroke caused by tobacco and high blood pressure. He has been with life support 3 days and yesterday his family made the difficult decision to pull the plug and he died tonight”.

Lisa Ann DeCinces (Lisa Loring), was born in Kwajelein, Marshall Islands on February 16, 1958. Her acting career began at age 6 embodying Wednesday Addams for the first time in real life. The flesh-and-blood adaptation of the Charles Addams cartoon was a hit series that ran for 64 episodes and two seasons between 1964 and 1966.
After “The Addams Family”, Loring appeared in numerous series such as “The Phyllis Diller Show”, “The Girl from CIPOL”, “Fantasy Island” or “As the World Turns”, where he had a recurring role as Cricket Montgomery.
It will always be remembered as Wednesday.
He reprized Wednesday in 1977 in the TV movie ‘Halloween with the New Addams Family’ and his latest work was in 2015 in the film ‘Doctor Spine’.
We recently saw a new Wednesday on screen starring Jenna Ortega in the new Netflix series (“Wednesday”), but as Jacoboson indicated in his publication, Loring “he will forever remain anchored in popular culture and in our hearts as Wednesday Addams”.
