Eddie Murphy is set to bring Donkie back to life and talks about a potential shout 5 as well as the hope of a spin-off.
“I would absolutely be open to it if they ever came out with another Shrek, I could do it in two seconds. I love donkeys,” Murphy said in an interview with Etalk. “You know, they made movies about Puss in Boots. I thought, ‘You should have done a donkey movie. Donkey is funnier than Puss in Boots. I mean, I like Puss, but he’s not as funny as Donkey.”
Murphy continued, “I’d do a donkey movie. I’d do another Shrek in two seconds.
When reporter Murphy suggested “pulling the strings” to get a spin-off movie with a Donkey-like lead cat in bootsthe actor said, “This is Dreamworks Animation. You have to want it. Dreamworks if you all want to do it, just call me. I’m done, I’m set and ready to make Donkey.
During the Red Sea Film Festival, Antonio Banderas hinted that there would be a fifth part Shrek.
“I did it the first time cat in bootsI worked on Broadway, so that’s where I did my first session. I have done five films now. There will probably be another, and Shrek will probably come back,” Banderas told Deadline.
