Greenwich Entertainment has acquired all rights to the documentary except for TV Nam June Paik: Moon is the oldest TVdirected and produced by Amanda Kim, which had its world premiere in the US Documentary Competition at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
The film will be released in US theaters on March 24 on Film Form in New York and will be distributed in Canada from the same date by Films We Like before its US premiere on PBS. American Masters. Dogwoof acquired UK distribution rights and international distribution rights outside of Korea in early January, with a distribution deal and streaming partner for the latter territory to be announced soon.
The documentary tells the story of Nam June Paik, a pillar of the 20th century American avant-garde, widely regarded as “The George Washington of Video Art”, who coined the term “Electronic Superhighway” and is perhaps the most famous Korean artist is. in recent history. It charts Paik’s artistic development, from his training in Munich to his emergence in the New York art scene, and his Nostradamus-like visions of a future where “everyone will have their own TV station”.

While financial data for the Took June Paik Deals were not disclosed, they were negotiated between Koh of Curatorial, Greenwich’s Arentz, Kantor of American Masters Pictures and Ron Mann of Films We Like.
