Amazon Studios and Phoebe Waller Bridge are developing a series adaptation of the popular action-adventure video game franchise tomb Raider. Waller-Bridge is busy writing and executive producing the series, but she has no plans to appear on the show.
tomb Raider is the latest project in the works for Waller-Bridge on Amazon. The actress-writer-producer is also developing Sign herewhich is an adaptation of the book by Claudia Lux. Over the years there have been two film adaptations of tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie And Alicia Vikander.
tomb Raider it’s a great video game franchise and I’ve been a fan of it since the first game launched in the 90’s on the PlayStation. There are no story details to share regarding the new series, but we do know for a fact that it will revolve around Lara Croft and follow her on some crazy and dangerous treasure hunting adventures.
The question is, will he start with another origin story or will he go into a story where the character is already an expert treasure hunter? I hope it will be the latter. But we’ll just have to wait and see!
The series will also be produced by Ryan Andolina and former Chief of General Affairs Amanda Greenblatt. Andolina and Greenblatt have launched their own production company and have a deal with Amazon. Dimitri Johnson he will also executive produce via his DJ2 company.
Waller-Bride is a talented writer and I’m curious to see what she brings to the tomb Raider franchise. Recently worked with Harrison Ford on Indiana Jones and Dial of Fateso I guess he wanted to continue the adventure by developing a file tomb Raider series!
