‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’ surpasses ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and is already the fifth highest-grossing film in history

With $2,054 million raised, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Was Surpassed At Global Box Office By ‘Avatar: The Water Sense’.

In its sixth week, the sequel to ‘Avatar’ has become the the second largest international opening in history, only behind the first which, thanks to its re-release in theaters, managed to reach 2,923 million dollars in box office. If it continues with the same numbers, ‘The Sense of Water’ has a good chance of surpassing ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ in no time. Right now, James Cameron is the director of three of the top five highest-grossing films of all time with ‘Avatar’ in first place, ‘Titanic’ in third place and now it’s in fifth place.

In addition to international figures, ‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’ has also enjoyed great success in Spain. As confirmed by Disney, the sequel to ‘Avatar’ is the Third biggest opening of all time at the Spanish box office. In its sixth week of release, it managed to raise more than €42.5 million domestically. To date, more than 5.85 million people have gone to theaters to see the film, and for now they can continue to do so, as it is still available in 370 theaters and 1,035 screens.

Not only are the box office numbers good, ‘Avatar: The Sense of Water could win one of the four Oscars to which she was nominatedincluding the best picture.

Will Marvel Movies Climb the Charts?

Despite dropping one position in the charts, the Marvel Universe is satisfied with the collection that ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ managed to make, in addition to the great success it had ‘Avengers: Endgame’ which continues in second place grossing $2.799 million, reaching #1 before the re-release of ‘Avatar’.

Marvel will have an opportunity to sneak back into the standings from 17 February with the theatrical release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, which has high expectations for the franchise.
