In 2022, gamers have been told that the classic console FPS experience Golden eye 007 would have been available to play on the Nintendo Switch through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass service. We now have a release date. It was recently announced that you can play Golden eye starting January 27. This port of the game will pretty much be the exact game you remember, though it will include online multiplayer to virtually relive those late night games with friends and roommates of yore. I know this is a very emotional moment for many fans, so what is your favorite memory of playing? Golden eye?
Enter a world of espionage as Bond in GoldenEye 007. Your covert operation to stop the satellite weapon GoldenEye spans the globe: you’ll infiltrate underground bases, charge through a military train and scamper deep into a jungle. Along the way, M will brief you on your goals and Q Branch will support your efforts with a variety of gadgets, but the ultimate success of this mission is yours alone. Save the day, then pan for gold in local** spy-versus-spy action or online four-player multiplayer and enjoy round after round of competitive first-person action.
Sadly, the experience is limited to NSO + EP via the Nintendo 64 emulator. There is a remastered version coming to Xbox consoles, but it won’t have online multiplayer. On the bright side, NSO + EP also gives you access to other N64 titles, a SEGA Genesis library, and select DLC for popular Nintendo games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe And Animals crossing new horizons. Does the addition of Golden eye help sell it better to you?
