For the first time in the “Indiana Jones” saga, Steven Spielberg entrusted the director’s chair to someone else, in particular James Mangold, who went behind the scenes of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”, a film that will hit theaters June 30. At 76, King Midas of Hollywood has decided to stay on as executive producer of this fifth installment of the franchise while dedicating himself to directing other more personal titles such as ‘Los Fabelmans’ or what appears to be his next project, a kind of reboot /sequel to ‘Bullitt’ starring Bradley Cooper as Frank Bullitt (played by Steve McQueen in 1968).

It may then that fans of the most famous archaeologist in the history of cinema wonder what exactly is the role that Spielberg occupies in ‘Dial of Fate’ and in an interview with Deadline, the director clarified his level of involvement is “peripheral”: “I supported the hiring of James Mangold for the fifth film”Spielberg says, “and I’ll let him make most of the decisions.”
