In the face of the controversial candidacy, Armstrong has not ceased to receive support, both from anonymous users of the network and from professional colleagues, some of whom know exactly what it’s like to grow up in Hollywood. Former child star Devon Sawa (“Casper”) opened up about it saying the following: “The Razzies are run by unscrupulous people. Name a 12 year old girl? fuck you”adding that: “That girl could have been awesome if you hadn’t gotten inside her head”.

On Twitter, users continue to criticize: “A bit disgusting that awards made up of adults publicly humiliate a little girl”and remembering that it is not the first time, making new examples: “Just to remember it It’s not the first time the Razzies have ruined a child actor’s life”noting that Jake Lloyd was also nominated in 1999 for the role of Anakin Skywalker in “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace”.

Also, the latest post Armstrong shared about the film on his Instagram profile is getting a lot of support with comments like: “Ignore the Razzies, you’ve done a great job and have a successful career ahead of you!”.

Cameron Britton (“Mindhunter”) also left messages of support for the actress: “I just want to tell you that taking risks and making art when you want is what life is all about, e When people you don’t even know try to put you down, they just put down themselveswhy their problems have nothing to do with you, but with them and where they are”.

Razzie’s answer

The co-founder of the Razzies, John Wilson, also spoke of the controversy, who tried to justify the decision to BuzzFeed, explaining that 1,100 members voted for Armstrong in that categoryand that, despite the debate that the organizers had on inclusion or not, in the end it was decided to respect the votes.

Wilson added that: “I see it being taken that way [mezquina]But that that was not the intention. I understand that people can get angry about this, but I don’t even know how to say it, the anger is interesting, even justified, but exaggerated”and before the negative response they got, he said: “There’s a certain moral high ground in that. It’s the Razzies, for God’s sake!”.

Despite everything, he admitted that he made a mistake in this case by naming Armstrong: “It was meant to be funny, but in this particular case, Looks like we screwed up. I can admit it”.
