Giancarlo Esposito of ‘Breaking Bad’ joins Francis Ford Coppola’s new film

Though the production was rumored to be hell, now a new star has joined his ranks, none other than Giancarlo Esposito, of ‘Breaking Bad’.

According to information from Deadline, Giancarlo Esposito has joined the cast of ‘Megalopolis’, the new film by Francis Ford Coppola, an ambitious project that pays homage to ‘Metropolis’ by Fritz Lang, one of the most important films in the history of cinema. Esposito is well known for his stint in “Breaking Bad,” but also Disney+’s “The Mandalorian,” as well as his role in Amazon Prime Video’s “The Boys.”

Currently, there are no details on who will play Giancarlo Esposito in Francis Ford Coppola’s filmbut it is known that ‘Megalopolis’ is currently in the middle of his recordings and that he will share credits with Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Chloe Fineman, Kathryn Hunter, Dustin Hoffman and many other.

Francis Ford Coppola clarifies development of ‘Megalopolis’

After the scandal that formed with the statements of THR, Coppola came out to clarify the situation with ‘Megalopolis’. In an interview with Deadline, the director clarified that the information is false and explained that it was “absolute madness” to think that the tape recordings of him were out of control and full of problems with Universal, the producer of the tape.

“I had never worked on a film where I was so happy with the cast. I am very happy with the look and that we are so punctual. These reports never say who these sources are. To them I say, ha ha, wait and see. Because this is a beautiful film and above all because the cast is fantastic. I’ve never liked working with a cast so committed and so willing to seek out the unconventional, to find hidden solutions,” said the director.

“It’s exciting to work with these actors and the cinematography is everything I could have hoped for. Everything is going well. We are on time, I love the actors and it looks great, I don’t know what other people are talking about here”. For now, “Megalopolis” does not have a release date yet, but it should arrive in 2024.
