Stephen King’s THE BOOGEYMAN is moved from Hulu to theaters for a summer release

Author Stephen King’S The boogeyman the film adaptation has been in the works for several years now. Production started a year ago and it was all set to move forward with a Hulu streaming release, but now we know that the Rob Wild the direct feature film adaptation will be directed in theaters instead. Similar to Paramount’s Smile, and the genre’s burgeoning box office, a test screening prompted 20th executives to turn the theatrical release around.

The film is the protagonist Chris Messina, Sofia Thatcher, Marine Ireland And David Dastmalchian. The boogeyman comes from a story in King’s 1978 book Night shift. The film centers on a teenage girl and her younger sister who mourn the death of their mother. A black man from the other side enters their lives after their psychologist dad has a meeting with a patient in their home.

The boogeyman will be released in theaters on June 2, 2023.
