“Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Dragons”: Start the game with Chris Pine and Hugh Grant in the new trailer

‘Dungeons & Dragons’ journey through the audiovisual world hasn’t exactly been a fruitful one. While the 1980s animated series remains a classic for an entire generation, the 2000 film adaptation significantly tarnished the image of “Dungeons & Dragons” on the screen. Now, Paramount Pictures intends to fix that mess with a clean slate in the form of new adaptation of the RPG, which is titled “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” and will be released in theaters on March 31.

Just over two months after its premiere, the film is launched new trailer where action, humor and digital epic come togetherpromising a trip of the most enjoyable.

After seeing what that first preview from San Diego Comic-Con was all about, we get this new trailer that, once again, is quite a mission statement. The new ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ unequivocally presents itself as a shameless and irreverent action comedy for a wide audience. But that doesn’t mean that the film, directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, will forget fans of the mythical RPG, with connections, elements and characters that the more experienced will immediately recognize.

In this sense, the trailer confirms that the Red Wizards of Thay will be the film’s main antagonists, in which we will see sorcerers use a magical artifact to create an army of undead, who will have to be defeated by the group of heroes and scoundrels in pure Guardians of the Galaxy style, led by the charismatic thief Edgin (Chris Pine) . . Also, the trailer shows it to us briefly szass tampowerful lich (as was Venger in the animated series), which is confirmed as the main villain of the film.

But if the trailer stands out for something, it is for the amount of jokes and gags in which the protagonists are involved, including Regé-Jean Page, who we will see try a very different register from that of his Simon from ‘The Bridgertons’ , and the always infallible Chris Pine fulfilling the desire of many fans to see him participate in a Marvel film … without being from Marvel.
