Stephen Colbert came on board to develop and produce a series adaptation of Roger Zelaznyof the fantasy novel series The Chronicles of Amber. Will produce together Robert Kirkmann and its Skybound Entertainment.
Kirkman first announced that he was developing a series based on The Chronicles of Amber seven years ago, but now it’s finally moving forward. The franchise consists of two series of five books each – The Corwin Cycle and The Merlin Cycle – and there are also a number of short stories and prequels in the series.
The story follows the story of Corwin, “who awakens on Earth with no memory, but soon discovers that he is a prince of a royal family who has the ability to travel through different dimensions of reality, called shadows, and rules the one true world . , Amber.
This is quite an epic story and is a hugely popular book series, which has sold over 15 million copies. The series also served as inspiration for game of Thronesand author George RR Martin he is a known fan. Martin said in an interview last year that “he’ll never understand why Corwin and his brothers aren’t the stars of their own show, and hey, if epic fantasy keeps going well, maybe we’ll finally figure it out.”
Well, the project is moving forward and we can only hope that a talented creative team will be brought in to develop it and bring the story to life. The production team will soon begin a search for a writer to adapt the series.
