Dark humor with these hilarious non-comedy films – Warner (courtesy)
Surely you have seen on more than one occasion a film that is not considered a comedy, but which in certain parts has a very dark and twisted humor. Well, that’s exactly what the list is about, movies that are a lot of fun to watch, but don’t fall under the “comedy” label, which makes them pretty hard to categorize.
So you can see what we mean by non-comic funny movies, there is “House of Gucci”, a police drama directed by Ridley Scott and starring Jared Leto, Lady Gaga, Adam Driver and others. It is the murder of Maurizio Gucci, planned by his wife, Patrizia Reggiani, and although the plot is taken very seriously, there are some aspects that make it very funny.
good guys
A film that is not comedy, but has a very dark humor is Martin Scorsese’s masterpiece, ‘Goodfellas’. Starring Robert de Niro alongside Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta, the story follows Henry, a boy fascinated by entering the criminal world, and his dream comes true when he joins a family of gangsters. Available on YouTube, Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
Uncut gems
another god detective films with a very funny humor is ‘Uncut Gems’, the thriller by the Safdie brothers, and starring Adam Sandler, one of the most recognized actors for his comedies. And that this time he doesn’t lose that funny touch, but in a more dramatic and serious role than what we are used to seeing in his career. Available on Netflix.

pulp Fiction
It is likely that all of Quentin Tarantino’s films could make the list but out of all his crime thrillers we have singled out ‘Pulp Fiction’ as one of the funniest of his career. Bruce Willis, John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson and others bring to life this story of extreme violence in which the characters are placed in situations so hilarious it’s impossible not to laugh. Available on Claro, YouTube and Apple TV.
Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse
It might sound like a cheat, but the animated masterpiece ‘Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse’ is considered a superhero movie first and foremost, before anything else. It’s about Miles Morales, a boy who becomes Spider-Man after Peter Parker’s death, and who soon receives a visit from other spiders from different universes who will help him on his journey. Available on Disney+.
RoboCop
Little is said about the satirical component of the works of Paul Verhoeven, who fills his stories with a dark comedy. And for the best example, ‘RoboCop’, an ultra-violent sci-fi action thriller in which a dead cop is brought back to life to create an indestructible robot, but despite his death, she retains the memory of him and now goes to his killers . Available on Amazon Prime Video.
