Screen Media Films has released a trailer for a new crime thriller titled The blacksmith. The film is the protagonist Ryan Philip as an ex-con who is trying to get back on track after being released from prison. He hopes to get back into the lives of his daughter and ex-boyfriend, but while he tries to stay out of trouble, trouble finds him and he’s forced to use the skills he has as a talented blacksmith. Things take a turn for the worse after an unexpected disappearance.
Phillippe plays Miller Graham in the film and is joined by Kate Bosworth, Ving Rhames, Jeffrey Nordling, Gabriela Quezada, Madeleine Guilbot, Noel GugliemiAnd Charlie Weber. Sounds like a good crime story that will include a few different twists. I like the cast, and because of that, I’ll probably end up watching it. Here is the synopsis:
Miller (Ryan Phillippe), an ex-con recently released from prison for a botched robbery, tries to walk a straight line and back into the lives of his ex, Beth (Kate Bosworth), a police detective, and their young daughter. While Miller is doing his best to stay on the straight and narrow with the help of an old friend (Ving Rhames), he discovers that his past won’t stay in the past and is forced to commit one last crime before he can truly walk. Street. Things go wrong once again, and now not only his freedom, but also his life as a daughter, hangs in the balance.
The Locksmith is directed by first-time feature filmmaker Nicolas Harvard from a screenplay written by Gio Russo And Chris Lamontbased on a story by Blair Kröber. Screen Media will release the film theatrically and on VOD beginning February 3, 2023.
