Dakota Johnson reveals filming on ‘Madame Web’ has wrapped

Sony has wrapped filming on what will be the biggest film in its Spider-Man cinematic universe. Dakota Johnson confirms that “Madame Web” has wrapped initial filming and comments on some details of what it was like to participate in a superhero story driven and created by an overwhelming majority of female talent.

During an interview for Variety, Dakota Johnson confirmed it ‘Ms Web’ has finished his recordings, as the director of photography of this Spiderman spin-off, Duane Charles Manwiller, had already revealed a few days ago. In this way, director SJ Clarkson will start with the post-production phase, to hone the last details and work with the visual effects.

Of, Dakota Johnson explained what it was like to participate ‘Ms Web’, one of the most anticipated superhero films of 2024, and which will compete directly with the Marvel catalog for next year: “It was a wild experience. I don’t think you can be prepared to go into something like this, but I have learned a lot, it’s a completely different way of making films.”

The cinematographer finished with the recordings of ‘Ms Web’, and is now working on the ‘John Wick’ spin-off, ‘Ballerina’ with Ana de Armas. While Sony still doesn’t reveal much about what’s to come in one of its biggest and most anticipated films in its cinematic universe, it has been filled with rumors and speculation.

The importance of ‘Madame Web’ for the future of Sony

The story of ‘Madame Web’ comes at a time when the Multiverse is something real between cinematic universes, as we have already seen in ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’, and which will eventually materialize ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ in the middle of this year. That’s why Sony’s promise of having more than 200 variations of Spider-Man on screen is serious business for fans.

There has been a lot of speculation as to which Spiderman belongs to the USS, and the most recent theory indicates that after arriving at the MCU, Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock would return to his own universe to pursue Peter Parker, but this would be just a child, which coincide with the events of ‘Madame Web’. So it may be that this Peter is completely new and unrelated to variations of Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

At the moment, it is only known that due to ‘Madame Web”s seer powers and connection to the multiverse, big surprises and some bad guys are expected from the film that could be important for the future of the USS. For now, it remains to wait until February 16 when Sony will release its film in theaters.
