It was a huge blow to DC fans when Kevin Conroy passed away earlier this year. He was the last Batman and his portrayal of the character in Batman: The Animated Series and the various other Batman animated projects have always been great!

Mark Hamill and his Return of the Jedi helix lightsaber reunite in Pop Culture Quest Clip
Then there’s Mark Hamill’s iconic Joker. The two actors definitely played these characters and got on so well with each other! Well, now that Conroy is gone and their collaborative journey has come to a sad end, there seems to be a chance that Hamill may never voice Joker again.
During a recent interview with Empire, Hamill said he “doubts he’ll ever reprise the Joker role without Conroy there to trade lines with.” He said:
“They would call and say, ‘They want you to be the Joker.’ And my only question was, ‘Is Kevin Batman?’ If they said yes, I’d say, “I’m in.” We were like partners. We were like Laurel and Hardy. Without Kevin there, there doesn’t seem to be a Batman for me.
Several years ago Hamill announced his retirement from voicing the Joker, but that didn’t last very long. This, however, looks like it could be real. Conroy and Hamill have been with each other every step of the way with these characters over the course of 30 years. I know it’s sad to hear this, but it might be time for Hamill to leave Joker.
