‘Ted Lasso’ finally gets a first look at its third season, which arrives in the spring

The last time we saw AFC Richmond in action was in October 2021 when the season 2 finale of ‘Ted Lasso’ aired. Apple TV+ is making us wait longer than expected to see new episodes of its hit comedy, but rejoice, because We finally know when the series with Jason Sudeikis will return. Well, roughly.

Apple’s streaming platform has just announced a good number of releases for 2023, including the third season of its flagship. Although it does not give an exact date, Apple TV+ announces that ‘Ted Lasso’ will return with its new episodes in the spring. We don’t know the exact month, but fingers crossed that it’s at the beginning and not at the end.

The ad comes with the first official image of the season, in which we see our favorite optimistic coach face-to-face in an elevator with Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed), foreshadowing a meeting that has already planted the seeds for last season. Recall that in the final stretch of his sophomore year, we saw Nick turn to the dark side, leaving Richmond to be hired by Rupert (Anthony Head, who is also pictured among them) to coach West Ham, but not before being filtered for the press that Ted had a panic attack during a game. While Ted is the most positive and kindest person in the world, it’s clear that his friend’s betrayal will have consequences in the new season.

Will it be the last season?

For a long time, ‘Ted Lasso’ season 3 is rumored to be its last, though nothing confirmed about it. It seems that, if fulfilled, it would be a creative decision, because otherwise it would be strange for Apple TV+ to want to close the most successful and award-winning series in its short history so soon. “Ted Lasso” nabbed the two most recent installments of the Emmys, winning Best Comedy two years in a row and amassing a total of 11 awards. In addition, the series has received other awards such as the SAG Award for Sudeikis, three Critics Choice and the prestigious Peabody Award.
