We were right until we were right, we built a house and watched it burn,” she began, referring to the California wildfire that burned down her Hollywood home in 2018.
The song quickly changes pace as Miley hits the chorus and reminds herself that she can love herself endlessly. “I can buy myself flowers, write my name in the sand. Talking to yourself for hours, seeing things you don’t understand,” she sings as she dances down the driveway of a modern hilltop mansion. “I can catch myself dancing and I can hold my hand,” she continues into the chorus. “Yes, I can love myself better than you.”
The former Disney star continues her journey of fulfillment by happily singing about all the things she can do for herself “with no regrets.” Visually, she strips down to a black lace bra and panty set that she models as she swims and works out in the spacious abode. She then strips naked or takes a hot shower while she dances and sings, “I can love myself better.” There is nothing more powerful than this!
At the end of the video, a freshly showered Miley is wearing an oversized black bodysuit with nothing underneath. She dances around the house in the dark, free as a bird.
Fans were first teased that Miley was on her way to something big in the weeks leading up to New Years. “NEW YEAR, NEW MILEY,” read the billboards that appeared in Los Angeles on the weekend of December 16th. billboards showed off the bottom half of a body wearing a red thong, suggesting this new Miley still can show some skin on it endless summer holidays was – nothing new to her, of course.
Additionally, Miley posted a countdown timer on her official website, which was supposed to hit 00:00 on January 1, 2023. This coincided with the release of her second Miley’s New Year’s Eve party from Miami, with which he co-hosted birth doll. When midnight struck, Miley announced that her new song, “Flowers,” was on its way. Prior to the release, she posted snippets of the video, including her nude shower scene.

Miley’s new single was also speculated to be called “R3SET” or “The R3SET” after Miley’s friend and collaborator Mike WiLL Made-It tweeted “THE R3SET – 2023” in December 2022.

Miley’s last album before endless summer holidays it was 2020 plastic hearts. Considered her “divorce album” because she followed their 2019 split from liam, it was also Miley’s fourth and final album with RCA (she would later sign to Columbia Records in 2021). plastic hearts it was considered a change for Miley, as she embraced rock, synth-pop and glam on the LP. The album featured guest appearances by Billy idol (“night scan“), Joan Jett (“Bad karma”), e dualipa (“Prisoner“), with stevie nick lending her vocals to “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix)” on the digital and vinyl release.

commercially, plastic hearts encountered some problems. singles performed Right: “Midnight Sky” peaked at number 14 on board Hot 100, “Prisoner” peaked at number 53, but “Angels Like You” failed to chart. The album reached number 2 on board 200 and Miley expressed frustration with apparent problems with fans finding physical copies in stores.

“My fans mean everything to me and knowing you guys are disappointed when you go to the stores/call/check stock makes me equally/if not more frustrated,” she said. I wrote on November 29, 2020. “When we chose 11/27 THE SUGGESTED DATE for album release, my team and I were never told that major retailers do not stock physical albums on Black Friday and will not receive copies of PH until a few weeks later . . then let it go.”
