In recent years, Marvel Studios has become one of Hollywood’s most prominent and successful production companies, with each of its releases being big box office hits, though opinions are often divided. And in his vast current career, there are a lot of projects that haven’t seen the light of day, like these superhero movies that have failed to release.

It is clear that if it is Marvel movies that could never be released, in first position must be ‘Spiderman 4’, the next chapter in the saga of Sam Raimi with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. There’s a lot of material out there about what this movie could have been, that it would’ve had John Malkovich as the Vulture, as well as Mysterio, Angelina Jolie, and even Kraven the Hunter.

Gambit

For many years there has been talk of a solo story of one of the most beloved X-Men in comics. Over time, “Gambit” has become a Marvel Studios superhero movie failed. Channing Tatum would have given birth to Remy LeBeau, and great directors like Rupert Wyatt or Gore Verbinski had signed up for the project, the same thing that Disney killed when it bought Fox in 2019.

Doctor Doom

If Thanos is already for many the best villain in the house of ideas, one would have to wait to find out what could have become of ‘Dr. Doom’, one of many Marvel movies that never saw the light of day. The story would be directed by Noah Hawley, the same person responsible for ‘Legion’ and ‘Fargo’, and would be a political thriller in which the psychology of the villain would be explored.

in humans

One of the projects that raised the most ambition among Marvel Studios fans would be the film “Inhumans”, which was announced during the Phase 3 conference in 2014. It was supposed to be released in 2018, it would have had Vin Diesel as Black Bolt, and Adam McKay would have been tasked to direct the entire project, which ended up becoming the atrocious television series.

Phantom Knight

After the two installments starring Nicolas Cage, Ghost Rider was ready to receive his series on the Hulu platform, especially after Gabriel Luna brought to life a new version of the character in “Agents of SHIELD”. The spin-off never happened, as it was canceled a few months after the announcement, likely by Marvel’s television division.

Crossover between FOX and Marvel

Probably one of the most ambitious projects cinema would have, long before “Endgame” or “Justice League”, was the crossover that FOX and Marvel were planning. It is supposed to be a film written by Zack Stentz, with all characters from both companies on screen, and it would be an adaptation of ‘Civil War’, with the X-Men taking on the Fantastic 4. The project was eventually canceled for unknown reasons .
